I created it so that I could have a place to freely air my political and other opinions without pissing off non likeminded people on my FaceBook page.
I can accept that frequently posting my opinions and links to stories I find interesting or agree with on FB can be annoying to others who don't share my views, and maybe even to those who do. FB is like a big living room and I don't want to be obnoxious there.
But this blog is different. Namely, it's mine. I'm interested in U.S. and world politics, history, literature, art and music, among other topics.
All are welcome to comment but be aware that I make no apologies for bringing a decidedly liberal / progressive perspective to bear on these topics.
Oh, and I like to argue based on facts. If you are the type who dismisses the arguments of others because they cite stories in "liberal media" like the NYT, go somewhere else. The same goes for "birthers," those who think Health Care Reform represents a government takeover of health care, followers of Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, etc and kool-aid drinkers in general.
The more I think about it, the more I dig my little corner of...Blue Miami.
